Surveyor’s services are essential during all stages of road design, construction & alterations. In order to properly design a new road or existing road alteration, the designer needs a base plan depicting topography, infrastructure and other details on the area of future road constructions. When the design is ready, it is the surveyor’s job to stakeout the horizontal and vertical location of new structures based on constructions plans. After construction is finished it is necessary to locate all the improvements and prepare a road as-built plan.

Profiles and cross-sections are usually complementary to both: road base plans and road as-built plans.
